The Liberal Economics Shirt
The Liberal Economics Shirt
Why? I ask myself that all the The Liberal Economics Shirt But I will love this time. Jealousy, instinct, a coping mechanism for ordinary cruelty, a need to belong, what else? Why does anyone hurt anyone just to see them hurting? My opinion is that it’s senseless. It has to be. I don’t want to find any sense in the minds of people who’ve made me a small and hurting thing, and if that is selfish then that has anyways been my guiding sin. Selfishness, curiosity, stubbornness, and a sort of heartbreaking hope that keeps me comin’ for more every time. Others have good answers already, especially Emma L. Mendl, so I’m just going to add this visual. Autism is how my brain works, it is not an accessory to be discarded at will. “Person/people with autism” has some unsavoury motivations behind it, I don’t prefer that at all. I will either say I’m autistic or an autistic person. We have a harder time understanding non-autistic people … and non-autistic people have a similar harder time understanding autistic people.

Official The Liberal Economics Shirt
This is called the The Liberal Economics Shirt But I will love this dual empathy problem. You may think non-autistic people are just “people”, and so you think autistics have difficulty understanding “people”. But non-autistics are not everybody, they are a segment of the population, no matter how large. Human beings have difficulty understanding others who are not like them. And autistics are very much on the receiving end of misunderstandings from non-autistic people who make assumptions about autistics without really understanding us. I’m thinking of a dear good friend, the highest of high functioners, who equated any advertising or attempt to persuade people to do anything as the same as lying, and was unable to end a phone conversation in any normal way, but would instead rattle away nineteen to the dozen and then say “Gotta go now, byeeee!” and put the phone down. I know an autistic man. He is very intelligent – he passed the 11 plus exam with full marks. This was so unusual that his test was marked by six separate teachers, with the same result given.
